- Diane Robbins is a single mother caring for a child with special needs. Her husband, Tom, abandoned them when he heard that his daugher was not perfect. It was Tom's brother, Alan, the town pediatrician, who stood by Diane and her daughter. Alan has hid his love for Diane knowing that she wanted no furhter involvement with men. It's up to Diane's daughter to remind them of all the forms that love can take
